While World Cup fever gets dialled up to eleven following England’s march into the semi-final in Russia, Monday marks just one month until the transfer window shuts.
Changes to the way the window works means that deadline day has been shifted forward to Thursday August 9, after the EFL followed the Premier League’s lead in shutting down the summer sales early, so that teams are able to finalise their squads before the season starts.
