And he jetted in to Italy today to have a medical with the former giants of Italian football.
According to La Repubblica, Alves was pictured arriving at Parma’s training ground this morning before being given a tour of the complex.
But the Gers ace’s proposed move back to Italian football came as his potential new club were facing match-fixing allegations.
The Federation of Italian Football today confirmed on its website that it has charged Parma star Emanuele Calaio with alleged match fixing in relation to their promotion-sealing win over Spezia in May.
Calaio is accused of trying to persuade Spezia players Filippo De Col and Claudio Terzi to put in less effort in a series of Whatsapp messages he sent the pair in the days leading up to the clash.

Parma could be held indirectly responsible for Calaio’s actions if he is found guilty.
They could face a points deduction next season as a result, and demotion from Serie A before the campaign even begins is also a possible punishment.
