The optimism surrounding Leeds United and the transfer window has diminished significantly over the last week or so.

When Marcelo Bielsa was appointed as manager at the start of June the Elland Road faithful thought that the times were changing at their club.

Finally they had a top class manager who would bring in top class players and get Leeds United back into the top flight.

But potential deals for top signings such as Matej Vydra, David Stockdale, Angus Gunn, Kyle Bartley and Abel Hernandez have all faded away for a variety of reasons.
